Demonized Woman Healed through the Gospel

"R" is currently an Acts student. She was born into a Hindu family in Nepal. While completing her higher secondary education, her parents arranged for her marriage with man from her home village. R was happy with father and mother's plan for her life.

Immediately after she was married, R was possessed by a demon that took control of her. She was incapacitated or forced to do things that created great difficulty in her life. She tried many ways to be released from this evil spirit, following traditional Hindu religions practices, but there was no relief.

One day, R met her current pastor, who shared with her the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was the first time she heard about Jesus and the way to be saved, so she told the pastor she would think about what she had heard. The next week, this pastor came to R's house again and shared the gospel during their conversation. That day, R asked if Jesus could free her from being possessed, saying, "If Jesus can heal me from this demon spirit and forgive my sins, then I will believe in Him." The pastor told her that she must have faith in Christ and open her heart to Him. He told her that if she genuinely did so, Jesus would save her and protect her from possession for the rest of her life. She decided to follow Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. Her pastor then prayed for her before leaving.

R started attending church, and slowly God healed her from possession. Now she is totally free from the evil spirit's presence and has experienced great peace and joy in her life. She is seeking Jesus every day and sharing what God has done for her with others. Her two sons have come to faith in Christ as a result of her witness, as well as others in her village. She is waiting expectantly on the Lord to save her husband, with the hope of going out among the Brahmin people group to share the gospel and to help plant a church in her home village.
