Delivered from Darkness into God's Glorious Light

May 2026

A.K. is 27 and from a town in northern India. He is a newer believer who has come to our institute for training just ten months after coming to faith. A.K. testifies that his life before he believed in Jesus Christ was full of sin and he cries thinking about it. He says he has committed almost every abomination in the world and was mentally unstable.

About two years ago, the right side of A.K.’s body would sometimes stop working from head to toe and he would experience unbearable pain. Even after consulting many doctors, he found no relief. His wife and in-laws attended a nearby Christian church and told him several times to come and his illness would be healed, but he never went.

Instead, he used to go to Hindu gods and goddesses and exorcists. When the situation worsened and he started having thoughts of suicide, A.K. thought that he should go to the church once and see what happened. On the day he went to church, when the pastor (an institute alumni) and all the believers of the church prayed together for him, many evil spirits were cast out of him. That day he started feeling better and began to believe that there was some truth in Jesus. Within a few days, he began to feel almost completely healed and had a strong desire to know more about Christ. Within two or three months, A.K. become a man of prayer and a true believer in Jesus Christ.

After he regained his health and life balance, A.K. then expressed his desire to his pastor that he wanted to learn and know God's words deeply. His pastor sent him to learn at one of our training centers. After coming to training, A.K. came to know the Lord more deeply and a burden arose in his heart to tell people about Jesus and to bring them out of spiritual and physical darkness to live with Christ in the light of gospel truth.

Although receiving little formal education, A.K. showed himself to be very intelligent during training and he learned God's word quickly. Though he enjoyed learning the Bible and practical ministry skills, training became an even greater reason for A.K. to fully surrender his life to Christ. Prior to training, A.K.'s goal was to become completely healthy and live a good life for Jesus, but during prayer he experienced a divine vision from God. He understood that God wanted to give him much more than healing and desired for A.K. to serve the Lord to help save lives. He is constantly praying for this and has completely surrendered himself to his pastor for further training.

Though A.K.'s wife and her side of the family are believers, A.K.'s parents and extended family are still Hindu and do not want him following the path of Jesus. They challenge A.K. regularly to leave his Christian religion, but A.K. refuses to step back now, regardless of their rejection. A.K.'s wife understands her husband's struggle and is very happy that he wants to serve the Lord. A.K. and his wife have two young daughters.
